This summer, The Backsliderz and I had an amazing time playing festivals across Canada, entertaining audiences with the songs from my new Album "Born Free". It was a heart-warming experience to share our music and connect with old friends & new fans along the way. A huge thanks goes to all the Artistic Directors and their staffs who were so accommodating and supportive. #prairieblues #bornfree
This fall, our musical adventure continues! I am excited to be performing two showcases: one at the The Folk Music Ontario conference in Ottawa and another at Ontario CONTACT in Peterborough.
My next show in Toronto will be as part of this year's Women's Blues Revue -- now in its 30th year -- at Massey Hall on November 19th. I'll be sharing the stage with Sue Foley, Dawn Tyler Watson, Layla Zoe, Cheryl Lescom & Alanna Stuart.
It will be a powerful time!
I'll also be showcasing as part of Blues Summit Eight in January 2017. It's a great opportunity for members of Canada's blue scene to connect with each other. Everything wraps up on January 23rd with the 20th Annual Maple Blues Awards at Koerner Hall.
And finally, there is a special show I'm really excited about that we'll be producing on February 16th as part of Black History Month. This will be an inaugural event that we're going to present every year. Stay tuned for more details!
I am one busy woman!
A special shout out to both FACTOR (The Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Record) and The Ontario Arts Council for providing me with funding for performing, songwriting and creating demos.
Please continue to follow me on my musical journey which gets more interesting and inspiring every day! And follow me on FB, Instagram and Twitter for my most current updates.

A few months ago, many of you submitted photos of your grandmothers for my "Grandma's Hands" slideshow video. A special thanks to all of you for taking the time to share your photos and memories with me. The video set to "Grandma's Hands" was particularly meaningful to me remembering the sage advice, sweetness and safety of growing up knowing both my maternal and paternal grandmothers. I hope you will enjoy viewing this visual narrative of such a sacred relationship.
